Work With Me

Finding the Right Support for Your Recovery

.

You Don't Need Another Diet. You Need to Understand What's Really Going On.

If you've spent years trying to eat "better," control your eating, fix your body, or finally get some discipline, you may be understandably tired of being told what to do.

Therapy with me isn't another set of food rules. We look at what's happening underneath the struggle—and why food has become such an important way of coping, controlling, soothing, or getting through the day.

So, What Do We Actually Do in Therapy?

This is where I think you can get much more interesting than the average therapist website.

We get curious about the pattern.

What happens before you binge? Why does restriction feel so safe? What makes certain foods feel impossible? What happens when you're stressed, lonely, angry, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself?

We work with more than your thoughts.

Your body has a story, too. We'll pay attention to what's happening in your nervous system and explore ways to feel safer, more grounded, and more connected to yourself.

We get out of the shame cycle.

Instead of judging the behaviors you're struggling with, we'll work to understand what they're doing for you. Shame tends to keep people stuck. Curiosity creates room for something different.

We And we practice real life.

Because recovery isn't just understanding yourself in a therapy session. It's going to dinner. Eating the food you actually want. Sitting with an uncomfortable feeling. Taking a rest day without guilt. Being in your body without constantly evaluating it.

What You Can Bring Into the Room

You don't have to have a diagnosis.
You don't have to know exactly what's wrong.
You don't have to be "sick enough."
You don't have to have your eating figured out before you start therapy.

You might simply know that:

  • Food takes up way too much space in your head.

  • You feel out of control around certain foods.

  • You're constantly trying to "be good" with food.

  • You alternate between restriction and overeating.

  • You don't trust yourself around food anymore.

  • You hate the way you feel in your body.

  • You're exhausted from thinking about what, when, and how much you should eat.

  • You know something deeper is going on, but you don't know how to change it.

That's enough to start.
